In Russian there are two main conjugations of verbs, plus some irregular verbs.
1st conjugation verbs
1st conjugation verbs are most common in Russian. They end in "ть," but not "ить," and have the letter "е" in their endings. To conjugate these verbs, remove the final two letters of the verb's infinitive and add the endings: "ю", "ешь", "ет", "ем", "ете" or "ют"). For example:

2nd conjugation verbs
2nd conjugation verbs are less common and a bit more complicated than 1st conjugation verbs. 2nd conjugation verbs have the letter "и" in their endings and come from three stem groups:
- end in "ить"
- seven verbs that end in "еть:" смотреть, видеть, ненавидеть, зависеть, терпеть, вертеть, обидеть
- four verbs that end in "ать:" гнать, дышать, держать, слышать
To conjugate these verbs, add the endings: "ю" (or "у") "ишь" "ит" "им" "ите" "ят" (or "ат"). For example:

Irregular verb conjugations
As you might expect, not every Russian verb fits nicely into the two main conjugations. Some verbs have the endings of both conjugations (хотеть, бежать), and others don't follow the normal declension rules (жить, ехать). For example:
